There is still plenty of snow in the high country. In fact, CHAINs were required yesterday on at least one Montana mountain pass, with heavy snow falling on two other passes. Winter is far from over in the the high country, and many weekends of sking, cross-country, snow shoeing, sledding and snowmobiling remain.
True, spring may be just around the corner for those of us who live at lower elevations, but for much of western Montana, the warmth of spring doesn't arrive until May.

although I enjoyed the scenery..chaining up the truck was never one of those things that was at the top of my favorite list...:)
I have been there! Sat on the porch and wrote a newspaper column. It was summer, of course! (and a long time ago)
