This inlaid coffee table is the only piece of furniture from my Father's home that I now display in my own home. He did give me a home-made gun cabinet and a home-made wooden tool box, but that's not furniture.
The inlay features slices of agatized rock covered with a hard poly surface. The base is natural burl wood. I can recall seeing this in my Dad's various homes and apartments for the past 25 years. I don't know the story behind it and he is no longer able to tell me. I think it is a nice piece. It is very, very heavy.

I love that, what a cool piece of furniture. I am a gemstone geek, and I think this is just awesome.
What a cool table.
It's beautiful. I have my Dad's coffee table that he made 25-30 years ago but it's in the attic. It doesn't match any of the furniture in my rooms but I can't part with it.

That is absolutely gorgeous and so unique. Burlwood is also a favorite. What a great piece of furniture and history.
I think it is gorgeous! I love earthy pieces! Especially with river rocks and gemstones..
