I love this photo because it shows what we can preserve from our past. I also love the home because I know how well it has been taken care of, inside and out. At one time this belonged to a wonderful Journalism teacher at Great Falls High School, Mr. William Spahr, who also served a couple of terms in the Montana State Legislature. He was in the North African Campaign in 1942, as World War Two was just heating up for American Forces. He was evacuated with sandstorm damage in his lungs, to such an extent that he was only expected to live a short while. Last I heard, he is still going strong. He always credited a daily walking routine for his full recovery. He took great pride in this home.
